The very inspiring series of presentations by Professor Irani continues in February with a discussion on the “Enlightenment Conception of the Gathas”.   The presentation starts at 1:30pm on Sunday, 1 February 2009, at the Darbe Mehr.  Please mark your calendars, and look for additional information in the upcoming newsletter.

The Youth Committee has planned a refreshing event for March 8th in NYC, In conversation with our very own Kayhan Irani. Details are attached. Some of you will recall attending Kayhan’s brilliant performance “We’ve Come Undone” at the Darbe Meher in 2002. Ava Patel had kindly coordinated the event.
Kayhan is looking forward to being with us again. You have to hear the remarkable story of this unique Lady Entrepreneur. Don’t miss it. Please mark your calendars. The exact location for the meeting will be announced next week. We will arrange car pools to NYC upon your request.
 
2Q Meeting

Prof. Amar Bhide of Columbia University will talk about the Venturesome Economy.
Edul Daver who has met him was highly impressed and invited him to be our guest speaker.

Celebrate Norooz, a festival of new life observed by Persians, Tajiks, Afghans, Uzbeks, Kurds, and Azerbaijanis. Let the Silk Road Dance Company dazzle you with its costumes, stories, and music. Witness the Sofreh Haft Sîn, the ceremonial table of the New Year, and a Parsee Navroz presentation. Watch a demonstration by celebrated painter Nasser Ovissi. Finish the day by creating Norooz-inspired crafts in the Make-and-Take Workshop and drawing in the Museum’s galleries of Middle Eastern art.
