Aapri “Aysha Ghadiali” participating in the production of Wide Angle program on PBS


Aysha Ghadiali, a member of our UN-NGO Team, is contributing in the production of a documentary show
. Wide Angle, a weekly international affairs documentary show on PBS will air Birth of a Surgeon on Tuesday, July 15, 2008, at 9:00 pm (Please check your local TV program guide for the timing). Birth of a Surgeon travels to Mozambique where, for the first time, midwives are being trained in advanced life-saving surgery. Suffering from an acute shortage of doctors, Mozambique has launched bold grassroots initiatives that have cut the maternal death rate in half.  The film will conclude with an interview with Dr. Margaret Chan, Director General of the World Health Organization by Wide Angle host Aaron Brown. Aysha Ghadiali has done research for the show under Wide Angle’s production team in New York City.

IT IS PICNIC TIME

As mentioned in our recent ZAGNY newsletter !!!  IT IS PICNIC TIME !!! 

Come join us with kids, families and friends for our annual ZAGNY picnic. As usual we hope to have a great response for this picnic.

LOCATION: Shepherd Lake Recreation Area located in Ringwood State Park (Ringwood, NJ )

DATE: Saturday JULY 12, 2008

The spring-fed waters of the 74-acre Shepherd Lake are brisk and invigorating and offer:
·       Swimming (Shepherd Lake, bathhouse ), boating, canoeing fishing, hiking trails etc. Picnicking: tables & food concession at Shepherd Lake
·       Boating/canoeing: electric motors, trailer launch, boat rentals, canoe rentals
·       Fishing
·       Hiking Trails
·       Horseback riding etc, etc

The park is open from 8:00am to 8:00PM.
THERE IS NO RESERVED SPACE SO PLEASE ARRIVE EARLY, ideally around 10: 00 AM.
Some of us will try and get there early to save a few tables for our ZAGNY group. Since the park does not allow signs, we will have someone meet you in the parking area to direct you to the picnic location.
There is no per person admission charge, however the park charges a parking fee of $10.00 per car.

Bring your favorite potluck picnic dish (enough to share with 8-10 people), and come prepared to have a great time!  Grills are available for cook-out.
ZAGNY will provide watermelon, iced tea, hot tea and charcoal for the cook out.

Once you are in the park,  Kerman Dukandar and Vispi-Sheroo will have their cell phones switched on in case you need directions to the picnic area.
